Update 1

The more I write the harder it is to NOT mention other mythical creatures or myths which is why I find this mission really fun yet complicated. My purpose was to write about dragons and find out about dragons. I wrote the following weeks chapter. Not this weeks but the week after. I'm liking where the story is going. I forgot that even if writing about dragons is fun it's still a story so I have to concentrate on both the informal part and the story elements. It makes it amusing.

One of the books I was using tells stories about dragons. I haven't really figured out how to talk about them throughout he story. I'm thinking maybe a character who tells the stories now and then. Make a specific chapter to restate those stories.

If you didn't know I also play Magic The Gathering. I collect dragon cards. They're really interesting. I can write about the game along with many other games that include dragons. Honestly, when I looked up the difference between drakes and dragons I only saw gaming differences.

For those of you who have suggestions on what I should look up or specific questions ask them. I can make a chapter about it or a charcter to find the answer for you. I can only think up so much on my own. Come to think of it I haven't even introduced Norse Mythology. I'll be working for the next month. I can ask the people I work around if they know anything about dragons. Is that weird? Eh. I'm a weird person.

Anyways. Thank you guys for staying with me for a month. I think it has been a month. Something like that. but this is fun and I assure you I will continue on.

Dragons - A Natural History Part Two

I know what you're thinking. You've post a lot in the past two days man! Well, right now I just want to get my mind off of things so might as well do this right? I'm going to go back to the book Dragons - A Natural history. Here it goes.
Dragons - A Natural History
This next part is titled "The Guivre And the Gargouille." "Dragons are not noted for shy, bashful behavior, which is why the guivre is so unusual an example." The story takes place in France during the medieval times. "Many serpent dragons were infamous for their dragon breath, which would poison anything that inhaled its fumes." "Wherever there was a guivre, there was death and destruction."
Basically, in this story they find out that the guivre find naked people embarrassing to look at so when one comes and slithers up to a farmer who's bathing in the river it blushes and slips away.
Personally, if I were a 'deadly' dragon or serpent I wouldn't care if the animal was naked or not. After all, humans are the ones who really have clothes. Everything else pretty much has fur. In the end they'll end up in my stomach with or without clothes anyway.
Moving back to the story. Later on it talks about dragons not all breathing fire. This specific one "spout fountain water". "In 520, Rouen, the capital of Nomandy, was under siege--by scaled head that had a long neck and a reptilian swan." It was later dubbed the "gargouille".
This archbishop gets tired of the case he find the gargouille's lair which is a cave. He goes to confront the thing with a prisoner condemned for murder. The prison's good as dead anyway so might as well. The archbishop raised his arms and placed two to make a cross. The creature sank down and started to foam in the mouth. Basically he tamed it and killed it.
What I don't like about this story is that that seems so... I don't know? Lame? "Oh! I got a cross which fingers. TO HELL WITH YOU." I don't know. It doesn't seem epic enough for me. I'm guessing that it was made to help inspire the people to fight for what they believe in I guess. But really.. That was lame.
Jormungander, The Midgard Serpent
This is a Norse myth so it's from Norway. "Spawned by Loki." Now that can't be good. I know of a whole entire fandom that'll be on their knees. (Okay. Sorry had to make a joke back to the story.) The creature became a problem because it was so huge and hideous that the problem was introduced to "Aesir, Odin the All-Wise casted it far into the deepest ocean where it thrashed bulk would be enveloped by the turbulence of waves." The "Jourmungander didn't vanish from existence." It ended up growing and "eventually encircled the globe. It remain[ed] there until Ragnarok, the Day of the Last Battke,"
That day it would be released and would confront the mightiest of the Aesir--Thor. Thor goes a journey before hand and Utgardhaloki, the king of the faints who were long-standing enemies of the Aesir, decides to challenge him. He plays a trick and Thor is ashamed that he cannot pick up this cat which is not the cute and light animal he thinks. He then is challenged to hold his liquor. Utgardhaloki's subject were able to douse down two and Thor couldn't drink his amount. Thor was lastly humiliated by having to wrestle a 'feeble old woman'.
Finally, Utgardhaloki admits to the truth and shows the reasoning for the illusion revealing that the horn that Thor was drinking out of was connected to the oceans, the old nurse was none other than Old Age and no one, could conquer her, and lastly the cat was the Jormungander.
Utgardhaloki flees and then Thor battled the creature. For the Aesir time was a faster while in the world Ragnarok arrived. Thor kills the Jormungander with thunderbolts and lightning fatality wounding it and whirled it in a giddy vortex then he threw it and it died.
Okay so I admit I took the fun out of that story but if you want to read it yourself the titles up there. I'm not going to go onto the next one because I've been at this library for two hours now and I feel bad for hogging the computer. I'll speak with y'all maybe when I get home. For now, leave me any questions or comments and lets get somewhere with this creature's existence.

Dragonology

Since I missed last week and I'm posting late this week I thought I might as well post next weeks chapters. I've gotton lazy and when I had this idea to post about dragons I wrote ten chapters on the spot. When I decided that I wouls post one a week I became lazy and stopped my creative writing cravings for the story. I believe if I were to get closer to the deadline then I'll get off my ass and actually write the next chapter.

Dragonology - Tracking and Taming Dragons
A Deluxe Book And Model Set
Volume one: European Dragons
Writen By: Dr. Ernest Dranke
Edited by: Dugalda A. Steer, B.A.S.A.S.D

This is a book that my friend let me borrow. Let me give you the knowledge that it witholds because I need to give the book back. Also, I'm sure we can think of something pretaining to the story.

  Chapter One
Word document doesn't consider 'dragonology' a word. Tells you its beliefs. It makes me think. If I can write god and it automatically corrects it to God or even buddah and it correct it to Buddah shouldn't dragonology be considered a word? Those are names yes, but they still mark the existance of something/someone dragonology represents the 'the study of dragons'. When I look up the word on google even the definition is a series of books but not an actual word. It makes me curious. Anyone can argue their point.
I haven't posted on the fact blog in days. I haven't posted on the picture one either. I will get to those tomorrow because it's late but one individual answered my discussion post about saying that Wyvern's scientific name is 'draco afriganus'. my fellow tumblr friend responded to this post stateing his opinion.
Davidguile is his user. He said that since dragons are creatues naming them scientifically should be more specific. You know, Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species. I can't tell you specificly what you said because I forget and the message is not in my database anymore but he was thinking on the lines of Kingdom: Animalia Reptilia and such. Go ahead and tell me what you think. I wouldn't know what to label them as (as of right now anyway).
On the first page it notes that there is a slight difference between female and male dragons. Honestly, I'd hope so? Chapter one is basically an introduction. Let's face it "we must be prepared torefute those who claim that dragons are unreal." Like I said, personally I don't mind the fact that they aren't real or are. It'd be amazing to know of dragon's existing but at the same time they're just like dinosaurs to me. They were alive at one point but now they do not live iin the era that I live.
When I spoke to a friend name Mike who runs Sportsmaniac in my local mall he asked me how I would feel to know if dragons were alive. Just like any other 'wild' animal he pointed out that not every dragon is hotile but there is that chance. "Just think of it." He said. "I walk outside this mall right now and there's a dragon in the parking lot. You don't know if the thing breaths fire or not nor do you know if it is hostile or not. So, what do you do? After a long days work personally I'd just want to go home. And there's this... this dragon in the parking lot! What do I do? I want to go home. It's been a long day at work? I mean. That's hard to phathom."
He made a point and it made me laugh. If dragons were to be real and thriving today what would society do? Well, think of it this way. It's and animal. Dragon skin would probably be a best seller if it were in the market. Just look in video games! So, they're prone to extinction.
I'm pretty sure not everyone in this word is going to love the fact that a dragon fire breathing or not lives amongst the skies and still has to eat. Not every single person in this word agrees which is why dragons being able to be tamed and trained? A very low possiblity. Of course though, there are always those people who are up for the challange.
The other option I can think of is this. Even if we manage to tame some of the dragons that doesn't mean all of them will be. Besides, animals are meant to run wild and or assist but not be owned. That's why I find it amusing when people tell stories in the animals point of view. Some people say this is my hman friend. Other's say this is my owner. Now those two statements are different. Not every animal will accept the fact that 'humans are surperior'. We're far from it. I can only imagine that a dragon who would be around the wrong set of humans would run hostile every now and then and burn a city just to relieve its anger.
Not all dragons breath fire. Great, not all of them can scorch us but some can drown us others poison. I mean. Think about it! They're still pretty dangerous. I love dragons. I do. And that's why I'm doing this research project but really. I don't know how I'd feel to have a dragon running around hostile or not in my city. If anything I'd attempt to protect it but then again would the smog in the sky (like in New York) harm a dragon? Hm. Who knows.
In the book it says "when our scientist first heard of the duck-billed platypus in 1797, they laughed". I don't blame them. It's something new. Just like right now. Not everyone is coming here with 100% faith that dragons are real. If I weren't the owner of this blog I'd come here to see what they would think about dragons and then base off my thoughts on what 'sounds' believable and hey, it may or may not be the same as someone else.
"Recently, (I'll check the books date) Henry Stanley learned of another apparently mythical animal, the okapi." Apparently, the Okapi is a "mythical beast or new scientific wonder of the African Congo." I'm focused more on dragons but the point of that statement is to show that there are more than just dragons out there. Like Unicorns for example. The version I have says that the book was first published in 2006 so recently has been eight years ago. Which is fine. I'll tell you what I learn and think up anyway but we'll try to go through updates alright? The story itself is updated every week but notes like these will happen every time I decice to sit down and write about dragons.
Tell me what you think everyone. Shoot questions to my tumblr if not shoot them here. I'd like to get every angle I can on this dragon existance. Direct questions to the link "The Facts" otherwise my email is Lusterdragon72@gmail.com name the email: Question About Dragons or something like that and I'll answer to you. Go ahead and comment here as well. I'll answer either way. Good day for now. It's late where I am. I need to sleep for now.
