Featured: Week Five: Seperation

Mitchell is a writer on tumblr that I've gotton to know. We're not exactly close but I do appreciate his passion for writing and realism. I'm hoping that you all will take the time to read this short story considering that it's not eve two thousand words! He's done other submissions for me as well.

There isn't really a point of summarizing this. But overall anythign that I feature will be about dragons unless specified that it's not. I'm hoping to raise that 165 to a 340 this year! Help me reach that goal!

Week Five: The Descendant: Departure

Holding an apple to the pegasus’s mouth, the pegasus gladly took the offering and then nudged the boy towards Elli and Vas. The boy curse in greek at the pegasus making it turn away from him. Shaking his head, he strapped his bow and held out his hand.
“Tucker Homestead.” He said with a beaming smile. “That piece of work over there is Haley, she’s a bit rowdy but you’ll get used to her, she’s a sweetheart underneath that mess.” He laughed as he caught the piece of apple Haley threw at him.
“See what I mean?” He asked with a nod.
Vas took Ticker’s hand before Elli. “Nice to meet you Tucker, but I have to say…” He paused as he let go of the handshake. “A Texan Roman?”
“Greek.” Tucker shook his head. “Mother’s Athena, Goddess of Wisdom, War, useful arts, and more. Like weaving,” Tucker shrugged. “Not that I know how to do that. I’m more of a wielder.” He smirked. “To answer your question though, my dad’s from El Paso and met my mom when he went down to South Padre Island. They were together for a full week and then she came back with me.”
“Sounds heroic…” Elli smirked as she took Tucker’s hand for a handshake.
“Yea.” Tucker shrugged. “Gotta’ love those one night stands.” He grinned. “Or one week, I guess, is a step up.”
“Six days up.” Vas grinned. “I’m glad you came when you did. We were heading to New York actually.” She said as he scratched the back of his bald head.
Tucker nodded. “Yea, I have mission to do but we can meet up with someone who can take you back to Camp Half Blood.”
“Camp what?” Vas and Elli said in unison.
“Camp Half Blood.” Tucker repeated with a grin. “It’s a great place.” He smirked. “You mentioned Romans. I’m guessing you know about Camp Jupiter too?”
Elli shook her head and Vas spoke. “We only knew that there were two camps. Elli pulled a trick back there, she has this inner lie detector that gets her feeling, see, hear, and taste lies.”
“Whoa…” Tucker said in amusement looking at Elli, a small fear settled behind his eyes. “Quite a talent ya’ got there.”
Elli nodded. “Vas said that there was a Greek Camp in New York and I sensed that he was telling the truth. I can crochet, but it’s only thanks to Youtube.” She smiled.
Tucker nodded. “Well, I was a farmhand before I was on the lines with Camp Half Blood. Athena didn’t give those skills.” He smiled. “We are still half mortal.”
 Elli sighed. “Sadly,” She shrugged.
Tucker shook his head. “Being immortal isn’t everything.”
“How can you say that?” Elli looked at him in amusement. “You actually believe that.”
Tucker shuffled his feet in response. Getting told by someone who could tell whether or not someone was lying or telling the truth felt exposing. Nothing could be hidden from this Elli girl.
“Because.” Tucker gave a slow sigh, “Mother nature herself went mad, Kronos tried to kill us, and the Gods? They’re not always lovable parents if you know what I mean.” He smirked.
Elli nodded. She hadn’t even spoken to Aletheia. All she had was a ‘inner lie detector’ as Vas had put it.
“I’m assuming you had a Goddess for a mother.” he nodded towards Vas.
Vas put his arm around Elli as she looked up at him.
“Yes.” Vas said as he smirked. “But. I’m her adopted father, not her birth one.”
“Oh.” Tucker’s smirk turned into a frown. “Sorry to hear that.”
“I’m adopted.” Elli shrugged. “What can I say, I’ve lived helping the police since I was toddler.” She smiled. “It’s better than being chased by minotaurs”
“Oh yea.” Tucker nodded. “Way better. But I have to say, you’re lucky an agent found ya’.”
“I was an officer at the time.” Vas commented.
“Right.” Tucker shrugged. “My point is, some of us don’t get that lucky. Camp Half Blood is a safe place for our kind. We should get you there are soon as possible.” Looking down, Tucker tilted his head.
“Where did you get that celestial bronze bracelet?”
“I found half of it in New York when I was working a case for the FBI and then I found the other piece in California, do you think it has to do with the camps?”
“Possibility.” Tucker shrugged. “I have a mission to get to.” He frowned. “I don’t mean to ruin your family here but if you want to get to Camp Half Blood in one piece, the girl has to come with me.”
Elli looked up at Vas with sad eyes. “He’s telling the truth.”
Vas sighed. “Well, as many times as I’ve had to leave you, I don’t see why you can’t do the same.”
Tucker shook his head. “I’d like to take you too but Haley here can only take two at the max, otherwise she’ll get cranky.”
Haley tossed head back and whinnied.
Elli smirked. “I don’t have to have powers to know that he’s not lying.” She laughed to herself.
Vas nodded. “Understood.” He said as he embraced Elli one last time. “Love you, Kiddo, write me some letters, you know how to get ahold of me.”
“You don’t have a cell phone do you?” Tucker questioned in alarm.
“I do.” Vas laughed. “She doesn’t. Apparently, the myth is true.”
“Oh yea.” Tucker nodded. “I can stand for that. Elli?” He said as he gestured towards Haley who was looking at her with gentle eyes.
“Be careful Kiddo,” Vas said as Tucker sat behind Elli, putting his arms around her waist.
“And you.” Tucker glanced down at Vas in caution. “I swear, I hear anything go wrong know that the law doesn’t protect you from me.”
Tucker smiled. “Sir, I’m a demigod and if I’ve learned anything the law is nothing to be afraid of,” He smirked. “But you sir.” He added quickly, as a father knowing of a few hot heads myself, I will take your word and I’ll protect your daughter. Don’t worry, she’s in safe hands.” He said Haley tossed her head in agreement.
“’…In my hands’ says Haley.” Tucker grinned.
“Oh!” Vas said as he turned to the car. “Hold on, can’t let my princess go without her not-melted-all-the-way large Mediterranean salted caramel gelato.”
 “Gelato?” Tucker asked in amusement.
“Yea.” Elli laughed as she took the cup and kissed her father on the forehead before he stepped away. “Believe it or not, it’s my fourteenth birthday and my good ol’ Pa over there wanted to take me out for ice cream.”
Tucker’s eyes lighted. “Howdy, get rowdy huh?” He smiled.
Elli elbowed him in the stomach and Tucker looked away in attempt to pretend like the pain wasn’t there.”
“She’s didn’t spend much time in Dallas but we went back a couple of times so she picked up on some of her Texas heritage.” Vas grinned. “I’m too worried, my kiddo can handle herself, but beware.” He grinned.
Tucker let out a sigh as he looked out from the direction he had originally came.
“You’re quite something, Elli.” He smirked as they took off.

“Elli Triad.” She said, realizing that she never gave Trucker her full name.

Organizing and Personal thoughts.

There is too much that goes through my mind that won’t allow me to broaden my horizon on these myths. Sitting with me is a book about Angels a book about Atlantis and a documentary about witches and their myths. So in order to lower a couple of subjects down I think I’ll do a ‘Supernatural’ approach to this and do ‘one monster a week’ except in this case it’ll be a myth or mythical creature of some kind. January was a figure out what to do month and now It’s settled. I’ll add it into February’s schedule. I would still like to hear your opinions and thoughts. I’m thinking I might even connect this more to the Newsfeed. Here’s the deal, I have such a wide spread of subject and I want to attack them all and knowing myself I will do that. But I can’t, I need to slow down even though that’s not what I want to do. So here’s how I’ll do it.

Starting February (well, technically the week before) I’ll focus on one subject. Instead of picking something up and telling you guys about it. I’ll do a youtube search, google, bing, and any books I can get a hold of at the time about the subject. Then I’ll write it in a text document sourcing everything that I used and found giving the reviews.

What I remember from last year is that I wrote about the sphinx and Atlantis but I’ll have to go back and check what exactly I did. I might even open another blog in order to separate the ‘final’ drafts from these notes here that you all will be seeing that way you guys can look up everything in one post rather than in sections. I’ll minimize that I write two thousand words for each post back maximize it around five thousand.

If there are a set of links that someone has provided or books that I have in a stack that I’m going to go over I’ll call it a miscellaneous post and go over everything provided. I have access to our local libraries, the book stores, and the internet so I should be set on my sources. But since I am exposing this to all of you I want to hear what you’ve collected and what you believe. It’s always great to hear another voice.

On that note… I might actually allow the people at home to read this blog. I gave it to a friend already and this is in need of opinions. After writing as much as I have you’d think I’d be well versed in giving out my work to friends or even family but those that I speak to physically or see on a daily basest are not, in fact, in the loop.

The closest would be my tumblr. But even then I don’t really expose myself to friends at home. There’s a few people but only a few. I’m not afraid to show my true colors. The only problem I have is that in front of thousands of strangers? I can make a fool of myself and not care. If front of friends? I start to shake and get nervous. Even though those are the people who don’t mind me feeling that way.

On the twelve I listed mythic creatures that were in this drawing book that I got a hold of. I touch up on those as the time goes by but I’m thinking Atlantis is a subject that I’m looking into the most. Since I have a book about it, a post, and a couple of set thoughts that may be my first assign myth for February. The reason why I wrote about the sphinx is because Atlantis and the Sphinx are supposedly connected. Along with those two myths the thought extraterrestrial beings is also connected to the sphinx along the side of pyramids.

If there’s anything I’ve learned from creating this blog it’s that one subject isn’t enough. You either believe it all or believe it none and whether it be Loch Ness, dragons, or unicorns. One has to open their eyes up to everything. Last time I believed I mentioned me reading the bible. Well, I haven’t gotten a book yet even though my family has theirs.

Arch Angels catch my interest especially the one called Samael. He’s considered a demon in some cultures and an angel in others but most importantly he’s considered both in some as well. So I don’t know what to believe. He’s considered an Arch Angel. If anything he’s a powerful one. I may have to separate the religious journey from the mythic one even though they run hand and hand. See, I have people I can talk to about these subjects. All I have to do is go to them.

With that being said, there’s the New King’s James version of the bible but I’ve seen a Pentecostal version of the bible? I’m going to have to talk to my sources about that. I grew up with the New King’s James version but now that the thought crosses me I might have actually read the Old version. If there’s anything I know from church it’s the hymnals.

Honestly though, I don’t know where to start with the religion part of it. Buddhism is pretty clear but the only book I’ve read of Buddhism made me laugh and then I showed it to someone who had more knowledge over the subject and he said to throw the book in the fire. So, sadly I haven’t found a good source. You can’t believe everything you read right?

This is what makes this blog a challenge, finding what’s believable and unbelievable about speculations and hard facts. Although, who can say that we know is exactly true? That is why I present everything I come across. If I don’t believe it, I won’t but I won’t stop you all from being exposed and figuring out what you believe.

Since I paused to watch the witchcraft documentary I’ll go ahead and place it here. I’m planning on read over witchcraft later on down the road but I have to say. I forget that Mexico has its culture too. I’m right next to the Mexican border and this is closest I have to a culture over all this mythology. Honestly, watching that documentary didn’t make me feel great. As I told my friend I’ll blame it on the coffee but to sooth my nerves I’ll meditate the feeling off.

So after watching that I’ll say I like sticking to the creatures and finding out more about them. I’ll have to go back into this sometime but you guess will probably see me ease into reading about witchcraft in time.

There’s not much else I have to say today. Talk to me guys! Any links, speculations, books you know, if you have anything to say please, tell me! I’d love to have conversation with any of you.

Notice: February's One Shot + Schedule Change

This is the Author's Note for Of Friendship, Of Lost. Tune in on February 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th 12:00PM PST to read the parts of the story. If you read this after those dates do not worry, Check out the tab for February in 2015. The story should be under One Shot: Of Friendship of Loss I, II, III, and IV

Author's Note
When I first wrote this I was planning on making it one huge file but then as I wrote it I figured I could write it in chapters of about two thousand words each. I wrote it to improve my tagalog, using my aunt's dictionary to figure out what to say and my own knowledge to write out part of the story. Originally, I posted this to tumblr in a page but since I didn't edit the work I didn't want to know how many people viewed it so I didn't put a hit counter on it.

Now that I've figured out the schedule for this year I am slowly filling in the slot with glee. This was solely written to help me improve my tagalog so if any of you pinoys out there read it and know what I am saying is wrong please correct me. Each week will have the translation at the bottom.

Also, out of honesty, I wrote it because I was stressed out. ^^' I tend to write the best stories during phases like this. I wasn't planning on posting it to here but since I remembered I had a day dedicated to one shots I decided to put this here. It's not 'educational' I'm thinking that any One Shots that I have here will display me focusing in on story elements instead of the mythology.

All I hope is that you enjoy. If you like the story please share it with others. If you don't want to that is fine as well. I love the silent support as well.

There are four chapters/sections/weeks. This will be the One Shot story for February. I do not plan on writing a one shot for everything month. I may consider adding more one shots as the time goes on but do note that my focus is on Revelation of Dragons and The Descendant for this year. Thank you again for your support.

Schedule

Since I am looking over the 2014 version of Revelation of Dragons you all will see the weeks post again on Sunday. I didn't anticipate on the work republishing the day I changed it so I am having to look over what I wrote and post it again.

This way, I can look over what I wrote and make it final. There will be a link to all the chapters on the side of the blog to help keep track of the chapters. Thank you for your support and for those of you who are new we are glad to have new eyes every day!

Expect this finalization to happen a year after I write the first piece. Even if the revisions seem slight each chapter will be finalized. Some chapters will be deleted and some may be added as I read through them.

As always, thank you for your support. We're planning on organizing our post and schedule as the time comes to rely. -Dj Domar

Revisions will be posted @ 10AM PST two hours before the 2015 chapter updates.

II. Week Four: Tall Tales

Zamer laughed louder than she intended. Feng Shui? Bring balance to the world? What was this, Avatar: The Last Airbender? Looking away in annoyance, Xeq crossed his arms. Zamer didn’t mean to offend him but it all sounded crazy. A phoenix and a dragon representing Yin and Yang. Now that wasn’t too much to think about. Reflecting her eyes to her phoenix form, Xeq looked up in curiosity.
Grinning, Zamer spung forward, catching her, Xeq pinned her to her bedroom wall next to the window. Wild eyes meeting each other’s, Xeq could help but let out a small laugh.
“I go missing and get back with all of this and all you can do is laugh at it?” He asked restraining from a growl.
Zamer’s eyes returned to their amber, showing a smile, Zamer spoke. “It all sounds crazy is all, Xeq.”
Releasing his grip on her, Xeq sighed. If she came back with a story compared to his? Yea, he’d be confused too. Opening up the window, Zamer sat on the ledge and gestured for Xeq to follow. Putting his arms around her waist, Xeq sighed and placed his head on her shoulder.
“I killed Vile’s brothers…” He muttered. Giving a low growl Xeq mustered, “Vile’s real brothers.”
Zamer shook her head and pulled touched his face with her hand to face him. Giving him a quick passionate kiss, Zamer pulled away and looked into Xeq’s eyes.
“You did it because you love him.” Zamer assured.
“I did it because I heard a stupid rumor and now I’m part hydra and I’m immortal.” Xeq sighed, “I’m literally going to have to regret this forever.”
Zamer pushed herself away from Xeq and crossed her arms. “So now you’re part real brother.” Zamer smiled even though she knew what she was about to say might cost her. “Have you tried combing yet?”
Xeq stared at Zamer furious and confused. How could she make a joke at a time like this? He murdered.
Seeing his reaction, Zamer frowned. “Okay, so you were in China. This yin and yang conspiracy you have me looking into, what’s what all about?”
Letting out a deep breath, Xeq tried to not let his anger get to him. Zamer knew how to push his buttons but she loved him, she was only trying to help. She even allowed him to settle down and then continue their conversation.
“It’s all complicated.” Xeq shrugged. “I’d rather you go to Mioko and we can learn together about this, he knows everything. All I honestly remember is that we represent yin and yang, masculine and feminine, we bring balance to this world.”
Zamer sat quietly looking at Xeq. He had worked her up disappearing. It didn’t help that Vile soon disappeared after. She didn’t think she would get rid of Flint and Gwyne off her door step during this time of confusion but now she was finally with Xeq again knowing that Vile was okay yet… Zamer smirked, Xeq was talking nonsense.
Finally, Zamer found her words. “Alright.” She said meeting Xeq’s eyes. The silver in them was tainted from rich silver to a metallic overcoat. She didn’t like it but she knew with time she would come to accept it.
“I’ll go with you to China, sometime.” She smiled and then stood.
Lighting up her Amber eyes, Zamer found herself pinned against the wall of her bedroom again. She never admitted it, but she loved when Xeq did that even if he was angry.
“Only under one condition though,” She whispered meeting his once again wild eyes. He seemed more furious this time.
“Which is?” He managed lightly even though his eyes denied every aspect of his tone.
“Never.” She said using her strength to break free from his grasp and pulling him into a kiss.
“Ever.” She said as she let go of their kiss and felt his arms wrap around her tightly.
“Go missing without telling something.” She paused and looked into his eyes knowing that he could see the hurt in hers. “Anything will do.” She added. Kissing him again, she watched as he sucked in a breath.
“All you have to do is warn me.” She whispered. “That’s all I need.” She smirked. Touching his cheek lightly.
Reading Xeq’s expression was an encrypted message at the most important times. Zamer knew everything about Xeq yet he never stopped intriuging her. She loved him for everything that he did for her and that he did for everyone else. He was never one to think about himself first. Despite Xeq admitting that he killed the hydras in order to bring on his own immortality instead of for saving his brother, somehow, Zamer couldn’t believe him.
Xeq loved his brother right after Zamer. There was no possible reason Xeq had done this for sheer experimentation but his eyes held something else, something that Xeq wanted to say but didn’t know how so he couldn’t. Zamer could count on Xeq and even though Xeq hated saying so, Zamer know he depended on her too.
Holding her in his arms, Xeq looked at Zamer hoping she would understand. He wouldn’t tell her only if he had to. He’d be making more trips to China. He had to make a schedule with Mioko and figure out exactly what Mioko was telling him. There was too much that Zamer needed to know but couldn’t. Not yet.
Giving a sigh, Xeq finally spoke. “I’m planning on seeing Mioko more often in order to learn more about Feng Shui and whatever else he can teach me, about the Greeks, about immortality, about…” Xeq paused. “About anything.” He smirked.
“I don’t know how old he is exactly but he’s clearly older than I am. I want to learn from him.” Xeq smiled and Zamer did the same in return.
“It’s nice to get to know your own kind.” Zamer commented and Xeq looked at her in surprise.
Is that what this was? Did Xeq want to know someone else? It was a great experience teaching Mikey. He had never taught anyone other than Vile and now he could be the one as the sudent. Maybe that was it. Mioko had plently of knowledge to pass around and Xeq and never honeslty had his own group of friends aside from the ones at home. Mikey had been the farthest that he had gone, but he felt more compared to a little brother than a friend. Xeq smirked. For the most part he was the one directing and guiding and now, he had a chance to not be in that position. Zamer was right. As she usually was. Meeting her lips once more, Xeq slowly kissed her, it took him every inch of will to hold back how he felt. He loved Zamer. He wanted to learn more about her and the Pheonix side of her that she was. There was so much he didn’t know. Luckily, Zamer’s parents hadn’t been home for their racket. With how many times he pinned her to the wall. Or she tried to dash at him, he wouldn’t be surprised if her parents had made them ‘take it to the living room’. Even though his heart was different and he was anew, Zamer accepted who he was now and that, Xeq hoped wouldn’t cost him later as he continued his quest for knowledge.

Feature: Week Four: Dragon's Folly

Dragon's Folly  by Ian Smith

As one of my friend's described the story: "It looks like the old tale of the dragon kidnap[ping] the princess at first but after that it's not :D" -patbunNF

There isn't a summary for this one either but I'd describe this story to be a good read. Nothing over complicated with this story. The best part is that is that it makes me laugh. Not in a bad way. In an enjoyable manner.

Week Four: The Descendant: Finding the Way

Panic kicked at the back of Elli’s throat as Vas shielded her from the glass. He had no idea what the real threat was as the bull headed man brought back his arm for a swing. Elli had never tried to bend the truth because the truth was supposed to be set, but if the pseudologoi could do it, why couldn’t she?
“He’s not the enemy.” She screamed holding Vas tighter than she imaged possible. “I’m not the enemy.”
Tilting its head, the bull man gazed in confusion at her words. “Dad.” She said in fright, “Behind you.”
Vas shook the broken glass off his jacket and turned to face what Elli was muttering about. Facing him was a half bull half man with a club at his side still dazed as to why he was staring at Elli. Grabbing Elli’s hand, Vas shook his head. “Grab our ice creams, we’re heading to that camp. I’ll call the police to come deal with….bull guy over here.” Vas shrugged as they ran out.
Hitting the accelerator, Vas let out a sigh. “It’s be nice to have that GPS turn on right about now.”
Elli shook her head, as she watched the half bull half man creature look around the café in confusion then meet her eyes in aggravation.
“Kiddo?” Vas questioned, seeing that Elli was still recovering, Vas sighed. “Kiddo.” He said louder.
“It’s chasing after us…” Elli said in confusion and concern. “It wants me. Like the pseudologoi… and Apate, and Dolos.”
“Well, I say it can’t have you, kiddo. If I remember correctly, the Greeks like islands and the Romans liked one huge city castle like format. Which one appeals to you more?”
Elli shook her head. “I don’t have a preference?” She shrugged. “Is there supposed to be one?”
“Sort of…” Vas shrugged. “I wouldn’t know, I’m not a demigod. All I do know is that if we go for the Roman camp then that could be anywhere, as for the Greek camp we’re looking for an island which isn’t as hard but it’s still an island which limits us.”
“Aren’t the Romans and Greeks not supposed to get along?”
Vas shook his head. “No. Not at all but seeing as they called your mother by both her Roman and Greek names I’m guessing something happened to the camps.
“One of them said that she came together, could that mean the two camps are interacting with each other?”
Vas shrugged again. “If I knew how to answer your questions I would.” He sighed, “But sadly I can’t.”
“Which one’s closer?”! Elli exclaimed asking herself more than her father who was now going ninety down the interstate with the bull man at their heels.
“New York!” Elli shifted in confusion. “You said you got half of the necklace in New York?”
Vas focused on the traffic and weaving through it. His lights were screaming and his mind was bobbling. What creature was half bull and half man? He had seen it before.
“A minotaur.” Vas exclaimed over his sirens. “What about New York?”
Elli shook her head. “A what?”
“It’s a minotaur, that’s what’s chasing us, sorry kiddo, I’m kind of trying to concentrate here.”
Elli sighed. “You got the brace from California and New York. You said was split in two at one point!” She exclaimed hoping that she wouldn’t cause them to wreck.
“Yea. What does that have to do with anything?”
“I think one of the camps is in New York and the other is California, it’s a hunch but that’s all I can say.”
“Great, Doll.” Vas grunted. “It’d be nice if we could check that somehow.”
Elli paused for a moment. “Say it.” She suggested.
 “Say what?” Vas questioned.
“Well, I know I can’t hear your truths or lies but sometimes, actually…” She muttered, her voice being lost in the siren.
“You’ll have to speak up, Kiddo.” Vas said pointing to the roof of his SUV.
“I was saying.” She said louder. “I don’t always listen for your truths and lies. I always trusted you.”
Vas smirked. He had lied to Elli before, but only when he had to.
“So…” She continued. “If you say it and I’m listening for the truth then maybe I’ll be able to tell you if our speculation is right?” She asked but tried to state.
“Okay then…” Vas smirked. He would have never thought of that. “One of the camps Greek or Roman is in New York.” He exclaimed wishing he could slow down, they were heading to New York on Interstate 30.
Elli’s eyes lit up. “You told the truth. Now specify!”
“There is a Roman camp in New York?” Vas asked.
Elli sighed. “You’re supposed to say it not ask me! Questions aren’y truths or lies, their questions!”
“Right…” Vas sighed. “There is a Roman camp in New York.”
“You don’t believe that.” Elli shook her head.
 “And?” Vas asked.
“I can tell that you don’t believe it but it’s not true anyways. It’s Greek. We’re going to the Greek camp.” She smile.
“There’s a Greek Camp in New York.” Vas tried again.
Elli nodded. “I already told you that.”
“Did you taste it?” Vas raised an eyebrow as he watched an arrow buzz by his SUV.
“Please tell me that you saw that too.” Vas asked glancing at Elli who had a surprised look written al over her face.
“A shimmering arrow passing by on my side? Killing the minotaur?” She questioned.
“Killing?” Vas asked as she glanced in his rearview mirror, sure enough the minotaur was gone and he slowed to a seventy five.
In front of them came a flying object running on the opposite side of the road. Turning to face it, Elli gasped in surprise.
“A pegasus!” She said in amusement.
“Is there more than one?” Vas asked still screaming from the adjustment of the siren.
 “No?” Elli wondered.
“If there’s more than one then they’re called Pegasi but that’s good that we’re only dealing with one.” Vas said managing to tone done his voice.
Elli laughed. “Well, you’re not lying.” She smiled as the pegasus approached the side of the SUV with a rider who had a bow in hand and arrows on their back. Turning to look at her, he gestured for the for her to roll the window down.
Doing so, Elli observed the boy. He was older than her and seemed to have experience in his package. She could see the emotional build up inside him and shook her head as she noticed him staring at her in silence as well. Finally, Vas broke the awkward silence.
“So,” Vas grinned. “Who’s the boyfriend, if my little girl’s been sneaking out to see a guy like that every now and then...”
Elli punched Vas’s arm. “Dad! No!” She exclaimed.
The guy on the pegasus blushed and looked away.
“I’m kidding, kid,” Vas laughed as Elli took over.

“Yea, he’s kidding. You’re clearly older than me anyways.” Elli blushed. “So, what’s your name and how’d you know about the minotaur? Moreover, how did you know your arrow would kill it?”

Loch Ness, and Story thoughts

For those of you who are reading from England I’d like to know your thoughts of the Loch Ness monster. It has always caught my interest and what bothers me about most of the websites I’m reading from is that they talk like Americans and if there’s one way to put up a red flag about a local legend it’s when they use the wrong measuring system.

Some of the websites I’ve found out there make me laugh. So, I want to hear from all of you what you think. It’s okay to answer this question if you’re not from the U.K to answer this questions, send me links and whatever you know about ‘Nessie’. Speculation is fine, although I want you o mention it for me when you speak under those terms.

I’d like to hear about any creature that you know of in mythology. If you don’t know which mythology it’s from that’s fine. It’ll give me something to look up as I’m search for more information. Back to what I was saying about religion and Mythology though. It occurred to me that the bible has both Western and Eastern dragons. Maybe. Joseph said that he read about them in the book of Job which is old testament and I know them from Revelations which is the new testament. I can’t believe I’m actually considering to read the Bible after all the years but you can’t go wrong with knowledge.

Here’s a fun fact. Not that it has to do with Mythology. Recently, I’ve become friends with a Canadian on Kik. He like the same fandoms I do and has watch a lot of shows that I have too. It occurred to me that the Providences in Canada might have flags. So I asked him and he said he couldn’t remember. I looked it up and bam, there they were. We exchanged jokes about them and then when I described the Texas flag to him he laughed because he thought we had multiple wars between the states.

It never occurred to me that anyone would think that but for those of you who don’t know, no we only have one and it was bad. The Civil War is the only war we’ve had between states. Everything else you hear is political and no I will not talk to you about politics. ^^ I probably should learn more about our Democrat-republic but I rather sit here reading and writing to the world.

I know that sounds ignorant but politics make my head spin. Even though our country says we’re one way we’re not and I’m sure anyone outside and inside of the States can get the picture so if you want to talk to me, politics aren’t the answer.

For the most part I can talk about anything. But my main focus with having conversation is learning about eh different legends. So if you have anything on Nessie send it to me! I’m getting a list of mythical creatures that I’m going to look into. There’s a section in our local book store about ‘New Age’ and I wasn’t sure what that meant so if any of you can clear that up for me please do.

I found books about metaphysics, culture, different religions, and all sorts of random subjects like numerology. So I’m guessing New Age is like the book store’s way to say miscellaneous. There’s another book store down town. I should probably hit that place too. Now that I think about it I’ll probably find a New King James version of the bible there too. I guess I know where I’m going on Tuesday.

Can you imagine buying books for five cents? Only five. On Tuesdays at our Christian’s In Action they have books for five cents. Normally they’re twenty five for paper back and fifty for hard back. I think. Something like that but I went on that day to get a letterman for my new college. I didn’t want to wear my high school one but I still wanted one so I was planning on searching for a red letterman but I found the book section instead (who would’ve guessed) and then found out that all the books were for twenty five cents but then I found out what day it was so they were for five cents. I got a box full of books for eight cents including tax. I let them have the rest because coins are coins. Why not?

I’m thinking of making the next project I put on here five thousand words per week. I proved that I can write one thousand in a breeze and two thousand isn’t much trouble either so I’m thinking of changing that but if I wait for a next project that would be next year until I post it up so maybe I’ll do one for six months, being twenty six weeks, instead of a normal fifty two. Since I’m not finished with Revelation of Dragons or The Descendant I can’t barge into a new project yet. I asked my friend for advice but he wasn’t much help because even with his random choice of a number I was torn between the two ideas.

So I’ll go with what he ‘chose’ which was to finish this year’s Revelation of Dragons set and finish of The Descendant. I forgot about Prometheus’s involvement in the other books so I had to add that information in smoothly. Now I want to write about Prometheus without the whole Rick Riordan version and to make my own. Not that he’ll mind. I’m sure he supports me writing my thoughts out.

Overall, the whole purpose of these personal notes it to try and get you guys to talk to me. ^^ It’ll help my inspiration and get me going on different paths. I have enough leads on my own but if you guys open up to me and tell me what you know these stories can go in different directions and I can cover more ground on Mythology and Myths than I can on my own. So please, message me some time so we can have a chat!

II. Week Three: Secrets

Vile gripped Gwyne’s hand. He wasn’t sure if they should be alone again after finding that she was in a relationship with Flint. Flint had been Vile’s best friend for as long as Vile could remember and now there was Gwyne. Vile and Flint would always talk about how pretty she was from a distance until she decided to join their crazy lives and become friends with them after having a couple of classes with the two. The two never made a promise that enforced either of them to stay away from her. Now that Vile was thinking of it, he couldn’t imagine Flint and Gwyne by themselves or him and Gywne as well. Every time Flint planned something or Vile planned something, as friends, they would never forget to invite each other and Gwyne. She was theirs.
Turning to look into Gwyne’s eyes, Vile motioned her to get closer. Putting his lips to her ear he whispered. “Is this what you want?”
Pulling away, Gwyne looked into Vile’s blue eyes. Sometimes they reflected a sea green, other times they were an oceanic blue and on certain days, they were a blue hazel and she simply loved them. She didn’t know what set his eyes to the settings they were but she never bother to ask. Leaning into him, she smiled.
“How do you change your eye color?” She whispered, not far from his lips.
It never occurred to Vile that anyone else would notice. Xeq spoke of it and he’d sometimes watch his own eyes change colors but he didn’t think anyone else cared. His change in clothes had no effect. He never looked at himself when he changed dragon form. He honestly didn’t know.
Caressing her face with his hand, Vile made them meet eyes. “Is it?” He asked again. He didn’t like pushing but he didn’t want to defy his best friend even though she was also his best friend.
Gwyne’s eyes twinkled. “Is it what you want?”
Vile smirked. She was what he wanted. But she wasn’t his. Well, depending on who claimed her first wasn’t something Vile wanted to ask but Gwyne was toying with him and he hated the confusion. He wanted her, they never promised. Flint wanted her too. But they didn’t promise.
“I asked you first.” Vile said playfully pulling her closer to him.
Not meeting his eyes this time, Gwyne looked out among the starts. They were on the roof of Vile’s house. “Do you believe in the zodiac?” Gwyne said, placing a kiss on Vile’s neck.
She was avoiding his questions which confirmed Vile’s fear, she wanted them both. The thought didn’t anger Vile. It did disappoint him though, she was never only his but the same was for Flint. She would never be only his either. Vile had to talk to Flint about this ASAP. He wanted to fly off and barge through the door like he did on some nights when he was in panic. Of course, he had to replace many doors. It got to the point where he was given a key.
The location of the key entered Vile’s mind. He could go. But what good would that do? Wake up his best friend, tell him that he’s sleeping with her girlfriend and then what? Vile always had this inner rage for Flint and Flint admitted the feeling was mutural too but they never said why. They blamed it on Gwyne and their liking for her but there was another reason and they both knew it. Vile didn’t want to set off that inner rage any more than he wanted to loss his best friend, either of them.
“I…” Vile said suddenly realizing that she was staring into his eyes and she was hovering over him.
Vile glanced at her position. She wanted to be with them both. But both would only tear the three apart and that, he didn’t wish. Pulling her down and setting her on her side, he forced Gywne’s back to his chest and looked up at the starts.
“Honestly, I think everything has its origins.” He said as he thought of his friend Taco, the Cancer constellation.
“I’m not sure about this future telling stuff.” He smirked brushing his lips against her ear. “But I do know that there is truth with the zodiac.”
Gwyne smiled. She was disappointed by his reaction. She wanted him. Badly. But mentioned Flint in her daze had been a bad move on her part. Now, Vile felt bad about the whole mix up. She did love them both. They were everything she ever wanted. What she loved most about the two is the hidden secret that laid behind their eyes. Both of them never spoke of it but she knew it was there. The love for her was obvious, how the two hadn’t fought over her from the beginning was her surprise but then the two came out about their feelings, separately.
One night, Gwyne stayed at Vile’s because her drunk father decided to lash out at her. She wanted to call Flint and Vile but she knew alarming them both would only cause them trouble so she headed to Vile’s house knowing that he would still be awake. Flint worked most nights back then so she’d run to him in the day time, when Vile usually had something to do. The thought of separating the two made her feel guilty. Why wasn’t the world fair? Why couldn’t she have them both?
Turning away from the stars, Gwyne faced Vile’s chest. Flint and Vile both had their share of muscle. Looking up at him, Vile’s eyes met hers.
“Do you want to go inside now?” He whispered lightly.
Gwyne shook her head. “Can we sleep here?” She asked pulling herself up set her forehead on his.
“My brother would be upset if you caught a colt.” Vile joked.
  Gwyne smiled.
Meeting her lips, Vile held her in his arms. He couldn’t do this to Flint. They’d have to talk first. And no matter how awkward it was going to be, he’d have to do it. Besides, Vile gently kissed Gwyne again. It’s not as if Vile knew that they were dating. Flint never said anything either.

Week Three: The Descendant: Expected and Unexpected Gifts

If there was anything on Elli’s mind, getting ice cream wasn’t one of them but Agent Vas insisted they stop one last time before she turned on this imaginary GPS he had been talking about. According to Vas, demigods could find the camp they belonged to by a certain age or when their sense of direction blessed them to. All Elli knew was that when Vas told her that he had been researching about her, she felt more like a test subject than an actual human being. Then again, she wasn’t full mortal if she could turn on this GPS of hers.
“Large Mediterranean Salted Caramel gelato for the princess.” Vas smiled brighter than he had all day. “And a Large Rocky Road gelato for the old man.”
Elli laughed as Vas sat down across her. “You’re not even twenty five, you’re not old.” She smiled. “Stop saying that you are.”
Vas shrugged. “Ay, at any rate that’s how I feel. Being an Agent isn’t exactly ‘clean’ when it comes to blood. It’s sad that I’m used to seeing dead bodies every day.” He shook his head. “And for that reason, I feel old.”
A sigh escaped Elli’s lips. “Demigod huh…” She smirked. “That’s why you said don’t call you after I turned twelve, that’s when you found out about the signal flare.”
Vas nodded. “There are many demigods out there. All we have to do is find them and I believe I’ll be able to help you.”
“Do you think you’ll live in peace when I’m gone?” Elli’s smile was small.
“Peace?”! Vas shook his head. “Elli, being here eating ice cream with you is what I call peace, why would I want to throw my only family, my precious little girl, my only sense of protection?”
Elli blushed. “It’s a gelato and thanks, I always look forward to my birthdays with you. Even if you can’t guarantee a Christmas, an Easter, a Halloween, you know, any other holiday, you’ve never missed my birthday.” She smiled.
Vas nodded. “I even work on my birthday, I know, I’m a workaholic but hey, don’t say the old man didn’t get you anything” He grinned as he took out a small box from his pocket.
Elli’s eyes widen. The first present Vas had ever given here was a family, on her fifth birthday. From then on he was able to get a week vacation while he was a police officer but lately as an FBI agent he hasn’t been able to do such luxuries. When Elli turned ten he got her ears pierced since that’s what she had wanted and got her gold earrings. On her eleventh birthday, he got her a gold necklace and from then on he added a single bead of a different metal to the loop. A bronze bead for her twelve, copper for her thirteen, and now, she wondered what he would add.
“Go ahead, kiddo.” Vas smiled. “Open it. There’s two presents inside.”
Setting her cup down and wiping her face, Elli grinned. The box was small but she didn’t want any huge present from Vas, he had enough on his plate as was and getting Elli a huge present was never something that Elli wanted to give him as a burden. Unwrapping it carefully, Elli set the cover down and Vas stopped her.
“Turn it over kiddo, don’t miss the little details.”
Elli gave a small laugh as she lipped it over. “What type of metal is that?” Elli tilted her head, never seeing anything like it.
“Celestial bronze.” He grinned. “It’s deadly to monsters.” He paused as she slipped it on and observed. “And demigods but I guess it doesn’t burn you guys like it does monsters.” He shrugged.
“Were you testing that theory?” Ell frowned as she toyed with it.
“Hey, my resources don’t say everything, okay?” He shrugged. “I got you a bead, that’s not the important accessory though.”
Taking out the piece of paper, Elli unfolded it and read the message aloud. “Daughter from another mother, Elli, kiddo, my greatest blessing.” Elli paused to laugh. “Dad…” She shook her head.
“What?” Vas shrugged innocently. “Can’t a man be emotionally expressive, we don’t have those weeks compared to women but we still have emotions you know.”
Elli smirked and continued reading. “You are everything I could ask for, and even though I can’t provide you with a mother I can say that I don’t think we both need a nagging woman in our life.“
 Elli nodded. “Ain’t that right.”
“I came across this when I was in New York, it caught my attention. I didn’t know why a piece of metal reminded me of you, half a piece, but somehow, through a miracle I found the other half in California, so, I got this done for you, I hope you like it.”
Taking the celestial bronze bracelet in her hands and placed it on her wrist, Elli laughed again. “And again, by speculation, you have been saved.” She said as she put it on.
Vas smile as she shrugged. “If you couldn’t wear it we could always paint over it with nail polish like you do with those nickel earrings.”
Getting up to embrace him, Elli shook her head. “I don’t think something deadly would be stopped by some coat of nail polish, dad.”
Glass exploding, Vas took Eli in his arm and shielded her. Behind him, stood a bull like creature standing with a humanized bottom half and a club in his hand.
