Mayhem Monday: Atlantis Lost World History Channel Documentary

The whole point of this blog was to research about dragons. Below is one of the many that I took notes over:

"Atlantis Lost World History Channel Documentary" by Bridget Franzen

This one helped me figure out what I should do for Vile. The more I research about dragons, mythology, and myths in general the more confused I become. I run into a lost dead ends and I am forced to write out my own theories hoping that one day someone will have more information to either prove or disapprove my speculations.

Here's one thought that came to mind as I researched Atlantis. Well, here's a few.

The story of Atlantis is told my Pluto, making it Greek.
  • Although, there is Egypt interaction so the city he speaks of has to be in Mediterranean.
The story speaks of catastrophes
  • These being a volcano and an earthquake
  • Does anyone realize how general that is?
  • Here's one to throw out there.
  • The Yellow Stone Nation Park sits on a 'dormant' volcano. If it erupts, half of the US will be effected in less than 24 hours.
  • Most of the land in the US will be rendered useless in a matter of minutes.
  • So an island (Utopian society or not) could defiantly go under water overnight.
Other factors to consider
  • Earthquakes occur mostly when two plates (continental or oceanic) plates pull apart. Giving that the ability to happen at the edge of any two plates. Obviously, there's more than two plates willing to pull apart from each other. (Not to put in personification form but the earth is constantly changing. Nature can't truly be foreseen.)
  • Volcanoes. Going back to the Yellow Stone. Any catastrophe can be deadly. But going by the two examples without each other they can be lethal. Together? A whole city? Nah. Nothing to it.
There are many versions of Atlantis. One fact that I want to point out from Wikipedia since I can't go anywhere else at the moment is that it says that it is he city of Atlas.
  • Atlas is the titan of navigation. Yet. There is no 100% positive theory of the location of this lost city.
Although I do know why the World Atlas is called by Atlas. By using the stars, they were able to navigate. Atlas is also the titan of astronomy.

There are many questions that arise when I watch these documentaries. I hope that I can entertain everyone with my thoughts but always keep in mind. This is fiction. I can only try to be as factual as fiction can be.

Week Seventeen: Jack's Shadow

Author's note:
I want to make sure
everyone understands that I do not know
where the hell this story originated from. If you
know, please tell me because I'm desperate to know
the answer to this. Jack's Shadow is a story based off of
déjà vu moment I had thinking that someone had told me
about a guy named Jack who had a super power  in  which his
power was all in his shadow. I do not own the original. However,
can not find the original or figure out who told me about the story because
the two people I thought told me the story said it was an interesting concept but
they do not actually know of this story that I speak of and it's freaky. Because I don't
know how I would have brought up this 'shadow super power' up in a conversation with
anyone. If anything, I asked my friends what they would want to have as a super power.
Rather a friend asked me and I asked a few of my of my friends and they all said the
general answers were flying or invisibility. Personally, I've always wanted to be
psychic and that's why most of my characters are telepathic but anyway. That's
not on subject. If anyone has any leads on this story please tell me. The main
character might not even be named Jack. It's only the name that my mind
keeps turning to so please. If you know, comment of contact me
because it is going to gnaw at me until I find out who it really
is. But in order for me to write a legit chapter for The
Revelation of Dragons I have to have the
information so I'm making it up since
it's my only choice and when
writer doesn't have any
choices this is what
they do. They make
due. Thank you
in advance.
Read this
 story with
the thought
in mind.

Jack's Shadow

There was a man known as hell
No one dared cross his path
Because of the power at will
He was a maniac

His life held in his shadow
The only way to live
And in the night his shadow became the night's curtain

So no way could dear Jack
Die for all his sins
A murder he was
And the attention was all his

Pounds and US dollars
Peso, all the more
Money cast in his shadow to end their likely hood

Then one day Jack was challenged
To be sent to his last fight
"I'll give you all the heavens, my mansion, and my dear wife."
"Go ahead and take my kids, my life savings, I doubt you'll win."
Said the man who was ready to give anything.
With a smile Jack proposed.
"Live as my slave, and then you'll have a deal."

Determined, the man went for it. His wife scowled at the hell
That her dear husband had made that day and shook her head at will.
"Sorry, Hun, but he won't win. For there will not be a shadow to cast.
In the place made of glass is a place known with no shadow."

He explained how he knew
That nothing would go Jack's way.
But Jack didn't care
For the man
Or his wife per say

He was in it for the challenge
The shrill thrill that he might lose
For the man was foolish to even think
That money was of value.

A billionaire Jack could be
But as an immortal he loved to be
Living away from everybody
Living his own life

Known as a devil
Or a man with a true heart
A saint to some
A curse to others
Jack and loved his shadow for his dear life

Appearing at the province
Jack bowed at the merchant as he sought
For the challenge of the one who stood above

"I hear there is a place unlike any other,"
Said the merchant with a thought.
"But are you that demon saint who lives only to rot?"

Jack laughed at the man's question, allowing his shadow to stand.
"This is my shadow and my life.
I doubt you'd understand."

"So you're a dare devil as well as a demon? But I know you won't kill me for the fun."
Jack nodded at the man's words and grinned wider than the thought.
"Precisely. This damned figure, has been challenged by the one and though
I may be on my way to my death, no immortal cared for so,

For you see, even if I die today. It's not as if I didn't live thy life.
Years have passed and I've tasted blood
And laughed and the scream of love.
Money has no worth to me
And it'd be hilarious to see
Something inanimate beat me
and my dear shadow."

"The challenge is what you seek." The merchant said with a nod.
"Go. I've told you of the place, of glass and there you will fight the sun."
As Jack took his shadow and left the merchant in his place, he mumbled something under his breath, a few words of grace.
For Jack could see, the fighter within the man's eyes
And the fact that man didn't run or scream for his dear life
Was amusing to Jack every time
He loved the ignorant and their bliss

In all his life he wished
He could live on like this
To live fighting every day
To feel the thrill in his veins
But Jack had not felt fear in days
And years because of his shadow

Stepping into the territory of the fallen hallow.
Known other than the 'stable' the one who stood their ground
Jack read the small pamphlet and crossed the boundaries known to man

The tour guide shouted
And warned Jack of his falling grace
That one day, the stable would be challenged
And never would it take
Anything but the soul
Of the debate

Standing face to face, with the boulder Jack felt the people laughing
"He's challenging a mere rock!"
"How will it fight him back?"
"Indeed, that is the devil saint known as Jack."

When people heard those words.
They were hushed and watch intently
As Jack summoned his shadow
To bring upon the deity

"I challenge you dear fallen
I am here to set you free
From you casualties
And the thoughts that you might be
Alive and lost
In that standing ovation
For you are nothing other than
A mere soul
On my hit list
Allow my respects dearest fallen."

Bowing and attempting to summon Jack's shadow he felt his life
As if began to slip away and his knee his the glass twice.
One knee hit the glass then the other followed then
His breath began to shallow and he looked around at the crowd to catch a hint.

None of them bared a shadow. Although light showed all around
Lit up by the dun at every angle found
Concern filled the tour guides eyes
Yet he did not move
For he felt the longing Jack had to finally lose

But as he felt his heart
He remembered that his shadow was also a part
Of him and not only was he the one in danger
His shadow was on the line

He couldn't lose his shadow
His dearest love
All his pride
Over thousands of years, not as old as some artifacts
But old enough to win

This simple challenge placed on him
On his heavy heart
To wager all his love
And all the blood spilled by his might.

His will arose and gave him, enough energy to strain.
He had to touch the rock
That way he could seep away all the pain

The struggle was felt all around him
Each person watch, amazed
As Jack inched forward, losing strength with the strain

The intensity proposed some tears to some woman's eyes
Even some men touched by the moment knelt down to cry
From around the globe, they preyed
They bowed to their different Gods

Because oddly enough,
This immortal touched their lives.
"What you are seeing is the devil-
is the saint-
is a god-
an immortal-
fighting for all his strength."

The merchant held the currency in his hand, amused by the blessing
If this Jack was a devil,
Why lend a merchant a hand?
What was it that the merchant had done other than give the information he had asked?
Closing for the day,
The merchant took the flask
And walked to the memorial
Of the stable god.

Searching for an answer,
He thought he might see

But instead as he found it
The deity made from the ground
He watched as his falling hero, gasped for his last breath

And with all the little strength he had left
The shadow appeared, over the rock and looked down at Jack with a smile from ear to ear

As Jack's shadow eyes and his own, met with a smile on the ground.
Jack pushed himself up, with his regained strength.
Embracing his dearest shadow, he held him for his dear life.

"I never thought I'd feel what it was like
To live without you, without life."
The shadow nodded and bowed, at the crowd whose cheers could be heard

A smile on the merchant, made him turn on his heels
He laughed to himself and walked
All the way home
Knowing exactly why
The saint had bless his abode.

Breathing hard and turning, Jack finally faced the crowd.
Taking one step forward, the rock crumbled to the ground.
Each piece had a shadow, and each piece gave him thanks.
The tour guide smirked and cursed about the intake

Now his boss would be angry
And it was because he did nothing
To stop the devil saint Jack
From ruining the place

Approach him with a gleam in his eyes,
The tour guide stood wonder filled
How could a guy with such gentle eyes be a mass murderer
But still...

"You have that on camera, no?" Jack asked with a grin
The tour guided nodded, and pointed up at the ceiling.
"There's no audio," The tour guide shrugged.
"As long as it captured the moment."

Jack smiled and patted the man on the back,
"Let today be known as my death."
Confused and head shaking, the tour guide refused.
"But you're alive, more alive than you walked in here."

Jack nodded in agreement.
"This is the only day.
That I've ever felt this way.
My shadow is my life and my power
And today I saw 'the light'.

Let today be known as my death
Because I will be put to rest.
I will take my shadow and leave as I came.
Alive yet dead. It's all the same."

As Jack laid on his bed side, the merchant at his side, and a daughter of the billionaire, hoping for his life,
Jack shook his head and too her hand, kissing it one last good bye.
"As long as you are alive my dear and pass on the strife, shall your family live in peace and money will not prevail over you,
Show what your father couldn't do,
Be generous and be kind."

"Allow further generations, to know of the power of their fate,
As their shadows that they cast will determine how much it takes
For them to fall entirely,
And since I've defeated the strongest foe,
Let them learn that depravity,
Only feeds the soul."
-----------------------------------------------------
And before any of you suggest who I speak of is Peter Pan
I will send Jack's Shadow out to murder you.
Because the real story is in no way Peter
Pan. Do you see any pirates in the
poem? No. Okay then, I swear
if I see anything over Peter
Pan being suggested
I will personally
send you a
letter from
Jack.

Dony: Creation: One

I'm not planning on these to be a connected story like the one that post on Sundays. I'm wanting to have fun with this character and make him into who he needs to be since I'm started to RP with someone and I don't actually have a background for this character so I need to build him up. This is how I'll do so. Also, any short story that might pertain to the actual story line will be posted here after Jack's Shadow since I want to continue that poem on. Maybe make it into an epic poem even. But I'd like to bring Jack to life or any of the others in an RP strictly in an AU perspective. That would be interesting. But I started with Dony so if anything, I'd like to continue on with him.
Since this is about the revelation of dragons I can stand for the reasoning. An RP of any of these dragons, mainly Dony, can introduce different scenarios and bring to life different creatures. If you don't want to read these chapters wait until Sunday for the new chapter of the regular story each week.
These are written for me mainly, but it's fun nonetheless. In conclusion, if you're interested, read it, if not, that's fine, follow the original story line. Thank you for reading in the first place. -Dj

Dony

My tongue licks the screen, leaving a trail of my saliva on each new browser that opens up to me. My claws are set in front of me, my red wings flutter, and I back up to reset my animation. My eyes set on a brown eyed teenager. He grins and nods to himself as I lick the screen and back up to reset.
Tongue not hitting an invisible force, but rather nothing at all, I stand wonder struck looking at the guy. His hair is short and jet black. He sits there grinning as I am transferred to another tab on his screen. Usually, the duplication of me is common. But this time, I tilt my head as I see the screen to the right of me.
To the left, above, below, and behind me are different versions of the same two symbols-a 1 and a 0. I start to notice these as I am stuck, not changing browsers in front of me.
Finally, on day-I open my eyes, setting myself out of hibernation mode, and looking to my left. There, is a different page. This time, this page is very similar but different from the browser to the right of me. Again, there is a duplication of me licking the browser in which would appear in front. On a day of confusion and desperation, I find myself licking the page to my left. My tongue shoots through the hologram, fuzzes, and then returns to its normal form.
Upset, I lay my head down. I was like this once four years ago. I watched as the different duplication of me were set as avatars or 'defaults'. I was forced to look at this girl all day after I was placed online as a free to use icon. It was welcoming. Until her screen went out and switched to the one time users that I was forced to glance at. Each lick meaning that I that I had their browsing history to feed off of.
Glaring at the page browser to my right. I watched as the pictures changed every noe and then. Curious, as the guy's browser is blank, I touch my claw to the right browser and scroll down.
Tilting my head, I observe the different versions of a winged creatures and sometimes not winged creatures but generally the same bodies emerge from each box. Each holding a link to a different page. Curious, I touch my green tail to the page and flutter my wings in excitement. I can touch the page with my tail. These drawings somehow are significant to the guy, I might as well figure it out.
After a while, the guy is back and I've looked through all the thousand almost two thousand drawings on the page at least twice. The new ones that post between certain hours are still posting. Excited, I turn to the guy as he answers a few emails. Finally, I get enough courage to approach him. Sticking my craw out into the open space, I look around. Stepping out entirely, I observe my surroundings. This place is bigger than any pixel file I have ever seen. Turning to face where I came from, I tilt my head to observe the 0's and 1's. The right page is now on my left and the left page is now on my right but now the area begins to fuzz and change to a browser known as Google.
I can taste his browser history still in my stomach as I feel an eruption in the pit of my yellow underbelly. Burping, I flutter in the air in amusement to my realist sounding burp. His IP address circles my brain as I search for his name. Pulling up his email history, I nod. The walls around me have different designs. On the wall across from the laptop, is a painting of a dragon. Feeling my wings outstretch I nod to it and observe the clouds. The skyline is an orange, yellow, and pink. All around the dragon is a fallen village, bodies are painted on the ground. My eyes gleam at the detail. It's almost as if the red scaled dragon is alive. The eyes stare back at me lighting up my cyborg self and I can feel the static around me surge.
Everything around me is displayed to scale. Amused, I fly over to the one mirror in the room. It is a body mirror and on the back of the closet. I tilt my head as I meet my own eyes. Compared to anything else in the room, I am microscopic.
Landing on a drawing on the wall, I look down at the circle with two massive triangle feet. It wears a firefighter hat and is attached to a hose. To the right on the picture is a turtle with it's shell on fire. I tilt my head as I observe the the firefighter putting out the turtle's fire. There is smoke at the top of the page. Nodding, I come to realize that I am lucky enough to be able to move. Since I am a GIF and not a JPEG file I have the ability to move. Taking flight to look at the opposite wall, I raise myself to view the plaques and medals.
One laminated poster says, "Homecoming Nominee" Below it is say in bold, "Danieljames Domar." and under that the name is a girl name "Oliva Serks." To the right is a black sash with silver lettering, "Homecoming Court." Hanging above alighted horizontally are medals starting with the year 2004-2995. "Little Olympics, Long jump, 5th." "2005-2006 Little Olympics, Long Jump, 1st."
Grinning, I approach the last one, this one has no lettering but it has two books with a lamp. I wonder what this one means . All the others are music medals and academic awards. Under the line on the medals are plaques for similar events. In some of the plaques are awards for advance media skills. A few have cameras, other have codes,  but most are music awards. I nod after reading each one carefully. A majority of the, plaques say, "Danieljames" but some day "Daniel James". I shrug as I think of his reaction to these misconceptions.
Tilting my head, I realize that I have no legit name. My url crosses my mind but I don't know how people would react to me saying, "Hello, I'm http://www.deviantart.com/art/Dragon-Lick-Icon-Free-163940974 or http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2010/133/a/8/Dragon_Lick_Icon_Free_by_iAnimeFan4Eva.gif, how are you?"
Hearing the door shut behind me, I flip over and look at the door. Stretching his arms out, the guy yawns. Eyes meeting min, he gives me a confused look but then one filled with joy.
"Dony?" He says in amusement. I flip into an ipright position and do what I'm programmed to do. Speeding to his cheek I stick my tongue out and lick his gave. Laughing, he curls in all his fingers except his index finger and grins holding his index finger horizontally for me to land on.

Week Sixteen: Changing

Pressure pounded Xeq in every which way. The blood in his eyes blinded him. As much as he loved his brother, he knew that there was other ways that they could communicate. A cell phone...people they hung out with...mail if it came down to it. But. At the rate of the Hydra's heart expelling his own structure, there would be no way Xeq could take flight. And even if Xeq had chosen to fork over the heart and let Vile have it, where would Vile be?
All around Xeq were echos of his heart beat as it panicked at the Hydra's heart's proposal to let it take over. Mioko had placed a barrier around the mountain to make sure no human could enter and stumble upon Xeq's predicament.
As Xeq's breath began to waver, he could feel a soft material find its way to Xeq's claw. He was constantly transforming from his true self to his reflectioned self. A roar would escape him every time his mind would realize that the morph was in progression.
Every muscle in Xeq's body pulses. He tried to control his breathing but found it easier to let his body do the magic. Carassing Xeq's mind, Xeq could remember the fabric's touch and realized what had been position under his hand/claw.
--
The Kitsune, the young fox girl, trembled about as she watched the man roar and growl. His painful screams vibrated the walls of the cave and sent tears to brim her eyes. The man had only been with them long enough to wake, eat, and talk to the elder dragon.
Heart cracking, the kitsune transformed into her fox self and left the mystical island within the cave. Approaching the man, she touched her nose to his finger. Wide eyed, the man's finger grew and brightened into scales. Afraid, the kitsune froze as she was pushed back by the growing claw. Once the man was fully transformed, the kitsune took a step back and tilted her head. As soon as he finished and the roar had echoed into the island area, he began to shrink back into his human form.
Worried, the kitsune turned to run to the elder dragon. As she did, she found herself face to face with a snout. Meeting eyes with it, she lower her gaze and whimpered. Standing stern, the wolf snarled.
"You could have been hurt!" The wolf exclaimed through his eyes.
The kitsune lowered her head. "Yes. But...." She shook his head. "He's hurting! I can't allow him to go through this alone!" She argued.
The wolf growled. "Go. Get out of here. I'll watch over him."
The wolf's piercing black eyes raised the kitsune's fur. "Fine." She said letting a shimmer of tears fall as she gracefully sprinted away.
Returning back to her reflectioned self the Kitsune's vision blurred as the tears fell uncontrollably from her face. Crawling her way to the elder dragon, Mioko turned in amusement.
“What is it, young one?” He wondered, allowing her to curl up next to him.
“Kadi’s angry that I approached the dragon while he’s going through his transformation…” The kitsune stammered between tears. “He thought I was going to get hurt…”
Mioko nodded as he set a hand on the kitsune’s head. Changing back into her fox self, she curled up on Mioko’s lap and pouted. Stroking her head, Mioko smirked. “Kadi is looking out for you.” He said as he scratched her behind her ear. “He is worried and wishes for the best.”
Making the kitsune’s snout face him, Mioko continued. “You are his only child.”
  --
The wolf snarled at the dragon as he roared and shook the walls of the cave. Such racket made without a barrier would be heard throughout all of China. Inching towards the dragon, the wolf glared as he calculated the area in which the young man took verses the young dragon. Sighing, the wolf glanced back at the entrance in which the kitsune had run to.
Seeing the water rush comforted him. Knowing that the kitsune was safe from harms way and probably with the elder dragon made the wolf turn to the dragon once again. Seizing the man’s hand, the wolf slid his head under to let him feel his coat. Finger’s twitching as they grazed the wolf’s fur, Xeq managed to feel comforted.
Hand morphing back into a claw and body changing back into a dragon, Xeq let out another vibrant roar. The Wolf’s ears twitched as the hand grew and encased him. Nose touching the bottom of the dragon’s claw, the wolf closed his eyes. In either self, as a man or as a dragon could the wolf feel assured that the man would understand. Hoping for the best, the wolf yawned and silenced the dragon’s roars.
--
Lifting her head, the kitsune scrambled out of Mioko’s lap and returned to her reflectioned self.     “Do you really think Kadi cares that much?” She questioned.
Mioko shook his head. “I do not think so.” He smirked at her  baffled expression. “I know so.” He grinned as she frowned.
“Kadi always wants to protect me but sometimes he doesn’t realize how scary he is!” She exclaimed.
Mioko shook his head. “Your kind have a history of their own, young one, once you learn this than you will understand his ways.”
The kitsune frowned. “Mioko…?” She quietly asked after staring at her reflection in the water.
“Yes, young one?” He said after opening one of his closed eyes. After she had returned to her reflectioned self and turned away, Mioko returned to his meditating state.
“Can you come with me to see the dragon?” She muttered. “That way if Kadi gets mad..”
Letting the silence breach her confidence, Mioko opened his eyes and nodded. “Of course, young one. If you want to be there for the younger dragon you may.”
Taking Mioko’s hand the kitsune smiled and skipped as they walked across the island and to the entrance of the cave. Smiling and laughing, the kitsune swung Mioko’s arm. Abruptly stopping, the kitsune gasped as she gazed at the sight. Curled up under the claw of the dragon was the wolf. Instead of transforming and roaring, the dragon snored, letting out a stream of steam from his nostrils. Smiling, Mioko nodded.
“Not only has the dragon learned but so has Kadi.” He commented.
Looking up at Mioko, the kitsune shook her head in confusion.
  “Learned what?” She wondered.
“The definition of inner peace.” Mioko smiled.

Week Fifteen: Scourges of the North Part Two

Scourges of the North
Original Story Recorded in:
The Enchanted World
 Water Spirits

As frustrated as Mikey was, he couldn’t bear any more tension. Spinning around, Mikey’s line of vision traveled from directly in front of him to a huge water mythical creature that emerged from the water and still was emerging. Furious, Mikey resorted to his trueself and roared so loud and harsh that it turned into a screech. Covering their ears, the crewmates grabbed onto the first available threshold.
Do not consume yourself with power, young one. The Goddess of Wisdom warned. Do not lose the intelligence you bear.
Mikey ignored her in annoyance. Taking flight, the water wyvern snarled and bared it’s aquatic flames.
“You dare challenge the Goddess Rán?”! The Wyvern spoke clearly.
“With the power of a God and Goddess on my side I don’t care who you are!” Mikey declared. “You’re nothing more than a wave that’ll come crashing down!” He exclaimed.
Mikey could feel the astonishment in the Goddess of Wisdom. Smiling, Mikey continued.
“You may be Goddess of ‘no relationship status’ but let me tell you.” He began to laugh at his own joke. “I have the ability to use acid and be around a man longer than you’ve ever!” He exclaimed.
By Gods. You are not… Goddess Vör commented.
Roaring back, The Goddess growled. “How dare you insult me, mortal!”
“Already been called that!” Mikey grinned. This time he could feel the chuckle of the Sea God.
“Besides, I bet even the Greek Gods would laugh at your pathetic deeds!” He yelled.
Colossal waves emerged from the North Sea. Laughing, Mikey flew away from the boat. “As if some water’s going to hurt me!” He yelled. “Who are they? Your daughters who can’t seem to get a proper date either?”!
As he speed off, Mikey somehow calculated the waves. Nine.
Those were her… The Goddess Vör replied with disdain.
Really? Mikey replied, astonished that he wasn’t lying to the Goddess.
Now! Exclaimed Mikey baffling the Goddess of Wisdom. Realization hitting, Vör began to giggle as a Tsunami shadowed the water imitation of a Wyvern and the nine colossal waves.
You manage to plan with the Ægir?! Vör exclaimed joyfully. That is one risky maneuver.
Mikey smiled as he shot upwards. Above him was a net, casted out by the Goddess Rán to capture her prey.  Blasting the rope with his acidic breath he burned through the lines and continued skyward.
I bless you with the knowledge of flight. The Goddess of Wisdom whispered in Mikey’s ear. If it weren’t for the concentration he would have retorted. However, as he sky rocketed past the clouds he realized how big the tsunami was. On a scale of one to ten this had to be the definition of one hundred.
Are you trying to kill everyone?! He screamed at the God of the Sea.
YOU WANTED ME TO DEVOUR THEM AND CURSE THEM TO NEVER SEE THE LIGHT AGAIN. AN ENTERNAL DARKNESS IN BENEATH THE SEA! Aegir responded. I GRANTED YOUR WISH FOR YOUR AMUSEMENT AND YOUR PROMISE TO SERVE ME.
Mikey sighed. Yea I know but I wanted you to keep the sailors safe!
THEY ARE. The God replied. NOW KEEP MOVING. The God instructed. YOU’RE STILL IN THE WAY.
By Gods. You sure are annoying. Mikey smiled.
MORTAL!  Aegir screamed, forcing the Tsunami to crash down.  Panicked to see that was actually still in the way, he looked up at the crashing water. Ready to strike his evaporating death, a water formed hand grasped him and forced suppressed him. He could feel himself be thrown out and away from the Tsunami with magnificent force.
YOU ARE LUCKY TO BE YOUNG AND RECKLACE. Yelled Aegir. BECAUSE OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE CASTED YOU AS WELL INTO ENTERNAL DARKNESS.
As Mikey emerged out of the water and spread his wings to catch himself he began to laugh unconditionally.
MORTAL. DO NOT LAUGH AT DEATH! Aegir shook his head. Continuing to laugh and fly aimlessly, Mikey couldn’t find it in himself to stop.
Catching his breath, Mikey continued to laugh as he found the ship and landed.
ÆGIR IS CONFUSED TO WHY MORTAL CONTINUE TO LAUGH. Aegir questioned trying to sound not as intimidating.
“Because.” Mikey said between laughs, receive weird looks for the crewmates. “Thou anger is funny.” Mikey wiped the tears from his eyes. “I don’t think I’ve ever had so much fun in my life.” He smiled.
Muffled screams could be heard from afar. By the time Mikey had stopped laughing, the Captain and other crewmates had congratulated and thanked him for his service. Mikey shrugged them off and bowed.
“It’s no problem really.” Mikey smirked, receiving an embrace from the navigator that once hated him for letting him live.
“Stay awhile would you?” Exclaimed the navigator. “Have some whiskey!” He offered.
Mikey smiled. “I’m only thirteen. It’s okay.” She shrugged.
Water swirling around him, a man appearing to be in his forties  emerged and slapped Mikey on the back.
“Ouch!” Mikey growled observing the man without a shirt and Caches.
“Ægir?” Mikey glared but soon smiled as the man snatched the Akevitt away from the navigator’s hands.
"Akevitt to Mikey. “You will make it home safe. For now, party with us. You have two hours till sunrise.”
Staring at the bottle, Mikey’s stomach flipped.
  “The…whole…” He gulped. “thing…?”
The laughing about silenced and everyone faced him.
“Skål!” The God laughed and knocked Mikey’s arm.
Staggering, Mikey shook his head. “For a God, you’re crazy too.” He shook his head.
Ægir laughed as he opened the bottle for Mikey. “Do you know what Skål means in Norway?”
Mikey shook his head. “Somehow. When you said that it didn’t automatically translate for me.” He shrugged, about to put the bottle to his lips.
“It means good wishes.” The God of the Sea laughed, shaking his head to Mikey’s approach. “You don’t sip whiskey, son. You take it like a man.” He replied putting his own bottle to his lips and letting some of the whiskey run down the side of his mouth. Mikey watched, wide eyed as the God of the Sea tossed the empty bottle to the side.
“Is that all?”! He yelled. “Toss me ‘nother would ya’?”! He exclaimed.
Mikey shook his head. “I can’t.” He muttered tasting the smell.
“OH FOR GODS SAKES.” Exclaimed the Sea God. “Drink lad!” He said, forcing the bottle to Mikey’s lips.
Tearing it away from his lips, Mikey held his stomach with one hand and the bottle with the other.
“Bleh!” He exclaimed feeling the murderous burning sensation in the back of his throat.
Ægir?” He questioned after he finally managed to stand the pain.
“Sadly, I’m only mortal.” He muttered, looking at the damage he had done to the bottle. Only one sixth had been chugged in that process of denial.
Ægir laughed. “And my wife is Rán and those were my daughters I sent to deepest chambers of the sea.” He smiled.
Mikey’s eyes widened. “What. No.” He exclaimed.
“For someone who can insult my wife, even with ignorance, I will grant you one day of life.” He grinned. “You will have to serve her to make up for your deeds however.” The Norse God laughed, ruffling Mikey’s hair.
Glancing at the bottle, Mikey gulped and closed his eyes, tilting his head back to take another swig.
Ægir bellowed in laughed. “That’s the spirit my boy!”

Week Fourteen: Scourges of the North Part One

Scourges of the North
Original Story Recorded in:
The Enchanted World
 Water Spirits

Mikey fidgeted with his fingers as he stared out the window. Vile and Xeq were gone for a total of four days now. This night would be leaking into the fifth. Opening up his window, Mikey sat on the window frame and looked down. He wanted to jump but was afraid. He had never transformed in midair but he was worried about the two.
Inside, Mikey knew that didn’t need to. His lime green eyes shimmered. All around him a new color spectrum arose. It was a wonder why he didn’t get a headache. On normal circumstances it seemed logical to receive a headache from the view. Mikey’s hearing escalated. He could hear his mother weeping in her room on the opposite side their house. He wanted to go to her but knew why she wept.
His father defended him. He spoke of good intentions and the process of growing up. “Olivia,” Mikey could hear his father’s voice clearly. “Mikey is at that age where he’s going through changes.” His father’s voice was sympathetic.
“Jack.” His mother’s voice tampered with tears. “He murdered another boy. With….” His mother’s voice trailed off.
“Acid?” His father’s voice was questionable. Mikey knew that he couldn’t believe it either but his father tried his best to take Mikey’s side.
“Yes!” Mikey’s mother exclaimed in confusion. “How do you bloody explain that, Jack?”! He exclaimed. “Acid!” He said choking on her own tears.
Mikey’s eyes brimmed with tears. He wanted to tell his mother but couldn’t bare her reaction. It had been a few weeks and every night was the same. Tears, comforting, confusion. And yet, Mikey heard it all.
Sighing, Mikey removed his put his hand on his mask. Looking down at his dangling feet, he found himself cooled by the fall. Suddenly, he felt himself grow in size. His wings spread and carried him away from the two story house. Soon, the window seemed like a small entrance to another realm.
--
Feeling the wind in his face, Mikey excitedly headed toward place where Vile and Xeq usually consulted Mikey. Diving to land, Mikey’s wings forced him to fly higher in the sky and pass his designated destination. Panicked, Mikey could feel the poison arise in his mouth.
Do not fear, dearest. A feminine voice calmed him as he flew aimlessly.
It’s my worst attribute. Mikey replied watching the waves crash into the aimless water beneath him.
The voice chuckled which brought joy to Mikey’s mood. May I know your name? He asked no longer looking below but ahead.
For someone from the modern ages I’m surprised you have any manners at all. The voice joked and Mikey smiled.
My name is Vör, Goddess of wisdom. You called upon me young Wyvern.
Staring forward, Mikey thought of how he should respond to the Goddess. Mythology wasn’t his strongest knowledge neither was religion.
  I… Mikey began. I did?
The voice laughed. For someone supposedly thousands of years older than him her voice was kind and didn’t speak of her age.
Yes. She replied giving Mikey no time to think at all.
Oh. What did I ask? Mikey shrugged still unsure how he called upon the Goddess since he hadn’t spoken to anyone since he had left his home.
You’re anxious to learn about your origin aren’t you? The Goddess questioned.
Oh…! Mikey said as he did a flip in the air in joy. Yes! Yes I wish I knew more but Xeq-and Vile! He exclaimed as she chuckled.
I know of your friends, deary. The Goddess replied. They are in quite the situation. She continued.
What?! Exclaimed Mikey, shooting hundreds of feet into the air.
Calm little one. Vör warned as Mikey’s air clung to his throat.
Right.  Mikey though, lowering his altitude. Xeq and Vile warned Mikey about long distant trips and certain altitudes when first learning to fly.
Is there anything I can do for them? Mikey wondered once he returned to his original altitude.
Sadly, I cannot say you can. The Goddess sighed. But what you can do is look down and look carefully. I’d like for you to see something.
Doing as he was told, Mikey glanced down. To Mikey’s surprise, the Goddess had lead him to a ship. Gazing at the scene, Mikey watched and focused to listen in on the conversation.
“No.” One of the cremates replied in panic. “No. Please. I beg of ya’!” He exclaimed.
Mikey shook his head in confusion. Are you translating them for me? He wondered. Because I’m one hundred percent positive that they are not speaking English.
The Goddess laughed. You are speaking to me. She pointed out.
Frustrated at the Goddess’ remark, Mikey returned himself to the conversation below.
“You volunteered before we left the docks!” Exclaimed the captain. “You said you were at will.” He argued.
Mikey’s eye’s widened. Fine. Forget the last question. Why is he about to jump?
The Goddess sighed. Watch and you will see.
Once again returning to the scene, Mikey watched as the man continued to argue but eventually condemned himself. Arms tied behind his back he stood at the edge of the plank.
I thought they only did that in movies! Mikey exclaimed in horror.
Young one, what did I say? The Goddess questioned sounding agitated.
“Watch and you will see.” He quoted sounding bored and upset that the Goddess wouldn’t answer any of his questions.
“I hear by sacrifice my previous navigator to you Goddess Rán!” Exclaimed the Captain, standing at long sword’s length away from his cremate. “Take him, and ensure our safety!” The captain continued.
Mikey cocked his head at the sword. Modern day sailors don’t use swords…. He commented as he glanced at everyone else on the ship. Eyes widening as the captain stabbed at the back on his cremate Mikey swooped to catch the man before he hit the water.
  “What?”! Exclaimed the man.
In shock, the Captain back up slowly and the other crew members stared in astonishment.
“Let me go!” Yelled the navigator. “There needs to be a sacrifice for the safety of their voyage!”
Mikey shook his head and spoke. “We’re in the twenty first century. I’m not allowing you to commit this suicide!” He exclaimed hoping that the message got to the navigator.
  “Dear Gods!” He exclaimed.
“Do we have cannons on this ship?” Whispered one to the Captain.
“Ay, If we do they haven’t been used in years.” The Captain whispered back.
“I’m not here to hurt you!” Mikey exclaimed realizing the his wasn’t speaking to the crew and navigator. Instead, all they heard was his roar which they didn’t take as a peaceful cry.
  “Goddess Rán!” The navigator screamed.
“Take me! Please keep my brethren safe of this voyage!” He pleaded.
“No!” Mikey tried to exclaimed but only frightened the crew all the more.
Why can’t they understand me?! Mikey cried to the Goddess.
They are followers of Rán. She replied. They will not hear out someone who ask for Goddess of Wisdom’s assistance.
Mikey growled. Gods, you’re really good at this information thing. I wish you would do it more often.
  The Goddess sighed in response.
I’m sorry. Mikey muttered, still gripping the navigator who was screaming for forgiveness and other pleads that Mikey decided to ignore.
So do I drop him? Mikey wondered to the Goddess.
That is up to up to you. She replied making Mikey roll his eyes. Then she added. He wants to be taken by Goddess. If that is his wish, you should grant it.
Mikey shook his head vigorously. No! Not if you showed this to me because you thought I was going to watch some sailor commit suicide! He exclaimed.  Vile tried to commit suicide! Mikey growled. It didn’t work out for him because he’s a dragon of the water. This man doesn’t have that case. Why should I let him give up his life when I, of all people, haven’t?
Mikey could feel a warm feeling in his heart. You can ask Ægir. He could feel her uneasiness. He’s the God of the Sea.
Mikey sighed. I didn’t even know how I called upon you dear Goddess. How can I call upon another God consciously?
When there was no replied Mikey’s grip tightened on the navigator. You know, for a Goddess of Wisdom you sure like to not give much of it. He muttered.
Closing his eyes without losing conscious of the crew’s whereabouts, Mikey concentrated and thought to himself. I call upon you, Ægir, God of the sea. He began. Please guide me in what I should do with this man.
YOU DARE CALL UPON ÆGIR, GOD OF THE SEA.  Boomed, The God.
Mikey rolled his eyes. Man! You Gods are so weird! I’m asking for your help and you either don’t answer me at all and watch me suffer at my question or yell at me for. Oh I don’t know. Asking for help?! He exclaimed in furry. Forget it! I’m about to put him down on the ship and fly away as if I was never here in the first place. Gods. Mikey exclaimed, watching the crew freeze in terror.
See, at least they react to me. I mean. Gods! Mikey growled.
WHAT IS IT YOU WANT, MORTAL?!  The God of the sea questioned.
Well, we should start with lowering your voice. Mikey rolled his eyes. And to get your terminology straight I’m not completely mortal.
YOU ARE NOT IMMORTAL AND WHICH MAKES YOU MORTAL, MORTAL. Replied Ægir simply.
  Gah! Mikey exclaimed in frustration.
AND NO MORTAL CAN ORDER AEGIR, GOD OF THE SEA, AROUND. Ægir added.
Should I call upon Poseidon then? Gods… Mikey said with sarcasm.
Boy. Never speak of the Greek Gods in the presence of the Norse Gods! Exclaimed Vör cutting off Mikey’s comment before he spoke of Poseidon.
Oh. NOW you tell me. Mikey replied in frustration. Fine. I won’t but he’s loud and obnoxious and you’re not very helpful. I want you to know that.
I will accept this apology on behalf of Ægir. Goddess Vör replied.
Your sarcasm worse than mine. Mikey shook his head thankful that the crewmates stood frozen and the navigator had finally stop thrashing about.
Okay. I admit it, I’m not immortal but I’m a Wyvern and I’d like your help. He replied to the Sea God.
WHY SHOULD I HELP THEE?! Ægir questioned.
Because no one should die because some Goddess doesn’t know how to get in a relationship. I mean. Come on!
Ægir’s booming laugh accompanied Vör’s normal sounding laugh.
What?! Mikey pleaded. I was dead serious that time. He whined. I wasn’t trying to be funny.
AS YOU WISH. Ægir replied. YOU HAVE MY BLESSING OF IMMORTALITY FROM RÁN. MAY YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS HAVE MY GUIDANCE THROUGH THE SEA.
Mikey sighed. Well thanks but that’s not exactly the answer I was looking for! Mikey smirked and shuddered as he felt the wind pick up.
Hurry young one, Rán is angry with you. Place the man with his crew and speak to them.
Mikey sighed and flew over to the ship, dropping the man on deck as close to it as possible and switched into reflection form.
“My Gods.” The captain said as Mikey stretched.
“A boy who can change into the devil itself!” He exclaimed, holding the long sword’s tip at Mikey.
Mikey sighed as his eyes glowed a lime green, knocking it out of the Captain’s hand he shook his head. “I don’t think you should do that.” He muttered.
Staring at him, Mikey wondered why the Captain didn’t react to Mikey’s reply. Face palming himself, he turned to look at the crew. “Do any of you speak English?”! He exclaimed.
Silence eroding into Mikey’s patience he thought to Vör. Guidance…. He sighed. Please….
Your own talents are being overlooked. She replied.
“Blah Blah Blah.” Mikey growled. “Whatever that means!” He exclaimed.
Catching the Captain backing away, Mikey turned to him and thought of what language the Captain might speak. Nynorsk. Nodding, he attempted to use his understanding abilities to speak to the Captain.
“I’m not here to hurt you.” He tried desperately, his eyes glowing a deep green.
“How can I believe that!”? Replied the Captain, “You approach from the skies, save our only hope to getting a safe voyage, and then you land and place the curse right at my feet!” He exclaimed, his voice rough.
“How can I believe you? Especially since you’re not human at all!” He added. “You’re a…a…” He stuttered. “A devil!” He exclaimed.
“Wyvern!” Mikey exclaimed in frustration. Seeing that the Captain didn’t react he tried again, slowly this time.
“Wyvern.” He sighed. “I. am. a. wyvern.” He spat, hoping not to sound as annoyed as he was.
“And what you were about to do was immoral!” He exclaimed. “Why sacrifice someone to a Goddess you’ve never seen?”! He exclaimed.
Frozen, the Captain shook and pointed a quivery hand behind Mikey as the ship took a sudden lurch backwards.
“Ugh!” Mikey growled. “WHAT NOW?”! He exclaimed.
